Dr. HAYDAR ERDOĞAN, PRESIDENT 2013

BIOGRAPHY

Dr. Haydar Erdogan is a research Scientist at the New Jersey Department of Environmental protection (NJDEP). He was born in Tunceli, Turkey in 1951. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering from University of Ankara in 1971, a Master of Degree from Michigan State University (MSU) in 1976 and a Phd. Degree in Environmental Engineering from University of Pittsburg in 1981. In 1982, he joined Rutgers University, Department od Civil and Environmental Engineering as an assistant research professor. Two years later, Dr. Erdogan left Rutgers University to join NJDEP as a research Scientist. He has been working at the NJDEP since then.

From 1991 to 1992 Dr. Erdogan taught at Columbia University, Department of Earth and Environmental Engineering as an adjunct professor. From 1992 to 1993 he taught at the New Jersey Institute of Technology (NJIT) as an adjunct professor. Dr. Erdogan gave seminars and lectures on water and wastewater, solid and hazardous waste management in Ankara, Istanbul, Izmir and Kayseri municipalities and at the Middle East Technical University (ODTU) in Ankara, Dokuz Eylul Universityin Izmir, Turkey.

Dr. Erdogan has pbulished several articles in the area of Environmental Engineering and is amember of several professional organizations including:

  • American Institute of Chemical Engineering (AICHE)
  • American Society of Civil Engineering (ASCE)
  • The Society of Turkish American Architects, Engineers and Scientists (MIM)
  • Turkish American Society of Civil and Environmental Engineering (TASCEE)

He is listed in the 1984 Edition of “Who’s Who in the Frontier of Science and Technology” and in 1985 Edition of “Men of Achievement”. He is one of the founding members of Turkish American Society of Civil and Environmental Engineering.
